We manufacture special pontoon products like pontoon docks for water bus traffic and pontoon bridges for different purposes according to customer needs.
When for the dock is required high durability, load capacity and stability, steel is a superior pontoon material because it has a rigid and stable construction - thanks to its solid flange connections. Steel is also extremely resistant to ice loads, compared to plastic or concrete. Steel pontoon products have a long life span, together with current coatings they last decades (35-50 years). It is also worth to take into concideration that steel is a recyclable material, meaning that when a dock will be dismantled one day, there is no need to pay for waste, like when in the connection of concrete dock dismantling. Metal Waste has monetary value!
We also supply dock anchors and walkways and service platforms. If necessary, we also install the docks at their final destination. For example, the docks for the Helsinki water bus services are manufactured by Katera Steel Oy.
Pumping Station Ferries:
By combining an isolated equipment container and a steel pontoon bridge, a highly efficient pond pumping station is provided. We make the floats just right size for the needs of our customers up to the pre-agreed installation interface. If necessary, we also install the station to its final destination. In principle, the float can be made in what ever size, but for example by using the float bottom size 10 m x 4 m it is possible to get a max. to a fairly 2400 m³ /h pumping capacity with 2 pcs of pumps.

Guides for floating logs
We have been manufacturing guides for floating logs. We have long experience and so we are very skilled in doing that kind of structures. Our guides for floating logs are very robust, because they as well are based on pontoon structure and are made of a strong spiral welded tube.
Fish guidance barriers
We also manufacture floating fish guidance barriers to help fish to bypass the hydropower plants (smolt control structures). Fish guidance barriers made of spiral tube can withstand in difficult ice conditions and in a demanding environment of the hydropower plants.
